It’s often referred to that it can be cold and very lonely at the top of on organisation, which is certainly true, when important decisions, with impact on the organisation, are to be made. ... Having an external resource who can coach and mentor during such decision processes is very valuable. I met Natasha through my current employer who offered me the opportunity to access some senior career coaching to help me better define my short, medium and longer term goals.
At our first session we spent some time on values and what is important to me and how that interacts with my workplace. If I am truly honest this work was somewhat difficult at times, as you really put yourself out there and need to think about what you truly want to achieve and be honest with yourself. This was especially true when we did some further deep dive work which for most of us is quite an uncomfortable place to be. Natasha was very good at supporting me through the process but also asked the challenging questions so that the process was effective. The results were well worth it, and I think a great foundation for us to have established, to move forward together on the journey.
Our other time together has been primarily spent on strategies to best deal with improving key work relationships and focusing on specific scenarios and tools to improve my communication and influencing skills and to achieve those tangible goals I have set for myself.
